The Caring Home Dr. Richard Curry Senior Research Fellow E-Health Development Director, SEHTA Healthy Computing, Portsmouth, 2015

New Models of Care Increasingly we need to manage systems – networks of care – not just organisations. Out-of-hospital care needs to become a much larger part of what the NHS does. Services need to be integrated around the patient

Six stage Health & Social Care Journey

The Home Where most people are ill & become increasingly frail Should be the setting for much more care Make houses care enabled so appropriate levels of support can be provided quickly Combine smart home expertise with assisted living

Convergence Smart Homes and Assisted Living share:  Same ambition (to improve QoL of resident)  Same technical infrastructure.

Current Research Working with SH&BA to produce consultative document aimed at policy makers, care providers & housing sector Working with Penny & Mark to develop an SBRI proposal on implementing caring homes Working with Penny & Mark and Suzanne Martin U. of Ulster to organise a one day conference at RSM on caring homes
