 He is able to handle the ball extremely well because in high school when he was 6’ 2’’ he played guard. He developed these skills early on.  Later in high school, Kevin Durant grew 9 inches but was able to retain his guard abilities.  The only player in the NBA who has similar characteristics is Lebron James. He is widely accepted as the best basketball player on the planet but Kevin Durant is close behind.  In 2013 Oklahoma City and Moore in Oklahoma were hit with devastating tornadoes.  Kevin Durant donated $1 million to the American Red Cross to assist the disaster relief efforts in the wake of the tornadoes. “Praying for the victims of the tornadoes in OKC these last few days.” -Kevin Durant  The Thunder and the NBA were amazed by KD’s actions and each donated an additional $1 million dollars for relief efforts.  Kevin Durant is very active in the community.  He works with less privileged kids and spends time with the needy.  For example, he donated $150,000 to three organizations for less fortunate kids. KD wanted them to grow up with proper opportunities.  He has also created the Kevin Durant Charity Foundation.
