Presentation transcript:

Talbor- Properties BorAlyn ® Al Ti Steel

Talbor ® IS LIGHTER THAN ALUMINUM, STEEL AND TITANIUM

POUND-FOR-POUND, Talbor ® CAN BE FORMULATED TO BE STRONGER THAN ALUMINUM, STEEL AND TITANIUM

POUND-FOR-POUND, A TYPICAL Talbor ® GRADE IS NEARLY 50% STIFFER THAN ALUMINUM, STEEL AND TITANIUM

Talbor ® PISTONS CAN IMPROVE ENGINE EFFICIENCY AND PERFORMANCE

High Temperature ® Properties High Temperature Talbor ® Properties

Talbor ® HAS EXCELLENT ABRASION AND CORROSION RESISTANCE

Other Benefits of the Boralyn Wrist Pin Thermal Conductivity: If a steel based alloy is being used the Talbor material can greatly increase the thermal conductivity. This would lower the temperature around the combustion chamber. The pin would pull heat away from the piston to the sump environment. The Boralyn would have an estimated CTE of W/M K compared to a Specialty Steel at 26 W/M K. !!! Wear Properties: Boralyn 20% has 40% less wear than than a good Bearing grade steel. Coeff of Friction: Our material is 30% lower than a good Bearing grade Steel. Total Benefits=38 added cylinder

Weight: can reduce the weight of most pins by 40%. This means a wrist pin that weighs 80 grams can be reduced to 42 grams saving 38 grams of rotating weight. Actually it would save an additional 38 grams on the counter balance mass also. Giving a total of 76 grams of rotating mass savings Talbor Application: Piston Wrist Pin Benefits

Talbor ® 'S HIGH SPECIFIC STIFFNESS IS EXCELLENT FOR POWER TRANSFER Water Craft Drive Shaft 60% weight Reduction

Talbor MMC Drive Shafts Improve Power Transfer by 22%

Casting Unit able to Pressure Cast Heat Treatable Alloys
