Why do people enjoy facing new challenges and opportunities? Explain how it helps to be courageous when facing new situations. How does perseverance help people overcome obstacles?

 Relocate- (prefix re means to do again) to locate in another place, move  If you keep talking I will relocate you to a new seat.  Familiarize- (suffix ize means to make) to make familiar  I want you to familiarize yourself with your new home.  Teach your partner these words.

Literary Terms We are going to need our books now

Conflict and Resolution A conflict is usually at the beginning of the story. They occur between people, between a person and a force of nature, or within a person. During the resolution the conflict is resolved.

Conflict and Resolution When we preview The Stormi Giovanni Club we can try to identify the conflict. On page 113 I see a picture of a girl surrounded by moving boxes and looks upset. I think the conflict will be that she has just moved and is unhappy about it.

Cavities-holes in teeth I had no cavities at my dental exam. Combination- set of numbers to open a lock I forgot the combination for my locker. Teach your partner these words.

Demonstrates- shows She demonstrates how to kick a soccer ball. Episode- part of a series We watched the final episode together. Teach your partner these words.

Profile- public image Her job was to improve the profile of the restaurant. Strict- tough His dad was really strict on his bed time. Teach your partner these words.

Generalize Today we are going to read The Stormi Giovanni Club. When we generalize we want to be sure we: 1. collect information about the topic 2. look for relationships among the facts. 3. form a general statement about the related facts. 4. Make sure your generalization is valid.

Indefinite and Reflexive Pronouns Everyone loves their present. This sentence is incorrect. Everyone is singular, and their is plural. It should read: Everyone loves his or her present.

Indefinite and Reflexive Pronouns Both finished their homework. This is correct, because both and their are plural.
