Discovery Science Notes Quiz

Hey guys, I hope you are ready to impress the sub with how smart you all are. Let’s start with a big science word. 1.What is the substance in plants that makes them green called? (spell it the best you can)

2. Other than making the plant green, what else does this mystery chemical do? (explain it the best you can)

3. Time for another fancy science word… What is the word that is used to explain that plants make food?

Time for a tough one… 4. Draw the process of making food, including all the necessary ingredients.

New topic (sort of) – watch out it has two parts! 5. Why is a mushroom not classified as a plant? What is it classified as?

6. What is a vertebrate? Give 3 examples. 7. What is an invertebrate? Give 3 examples

8. What are three purposes for a wetland.

Time for another tough one… 9. Define INERTIA. (HINT: be sure to include both parts)

Ready to wrap this up? Last question… 10. What kind of air do plants breathe and what air do animals breathe?

Bonus question (don’t worry – I know it’s not in the notes you have, and it won’t count against you, I just want to know… if you know) Question: What are the 8 characteristics of living things? (list as many as you can)
