Roles of a Team Captain Attend all Team Captains meetings Encourage friends and family to sign up! FUNDRAISE! Utilize the website Pass information on to your team Organize and delegate

Let’s Start With… Attending Team Captains Meetings! – ATTEND ALL TEAM CAPTAINS MEETINGS – They are mandatory, and necessary for us to provide you with some vital information to make your team’s Relay experience the best it can be! – Dates: March 8, 2012: Team Captains Meeting #2 April 12, 2012: Team Captains Meeting #3 and Bank Night

Let’s Continue With… HOW TO GET PEOPLE TO JOIN YOUR TEAM. Ask: – Friends – Classmates Sheets with info. Write on the board. – Teammates – Floor-mates, suite-mates, house-mates Floor event? – Fraternity/Sorority brothers/sisters – Professors, TAs

But how do I ask them?? Tell them why you Relay! – Sharing a story will help you connect with people Let them know about Relay and what CAC’s mission is – The more info they have, the more likely they are to join the cause

Set Goals Set goals for yourself. – Raising $100 gets you an American Cancer Society T-shirt! Set goals for your team – Create small incentives for your team to fundraise – If you reach it, set the goal higher!

Individual Fundraising Ask family members and friends – A kind, personalized or letter goes a long way. Ask your own and your parents’ co-workers – Parents may have coworkers that have been affected by cancer and want to donate. Social Networking-Facebook, Twitter, etc. – Post the website for people to donate or at least advertise Relay. You never know when someone may donate!

Team Fundraising Off-site fundraising: before Relay – If any teams have ideas them to and we can help organize it and plan – Some events will be organized for teams to run On-site fundraising: at Relay
