St. Basil and several of his brothers and sisters were honored saints in the catholic religion
One tradition is to bake a cake with a gold or silver coin inside. Whoever finds the coin will have good luck. On New Year's Eve grown ups and children go from house to house singing the New Year's Kalanda.
