What is today all about? To demonstrate a “normal” lesson as far as possible to give you a realistic impression of life in September. To introduce some of the skills and topic areas we will cover. To ensure you are clear on what is expected for the independent study task. To answer any questions.

Course Overview Unit 1 - Introduction to Language and Literature study –Exam in June 2014 worth 60% –Anthology of fiction & non-fiction texts entitled “Food Glorious Food” LO: What is English Language and Literature about?

Course Overview Unit 2 – Themes in Language and Literature –Coursework submitted in June 2014 worth 40% –Comparison of your choice of two extracts from our set texts, based on the theme of War. –A piece of creative writing inspired by your reading of these texts.
