CPA Orientation Student: – The Opportunity to gather information and meet representatives from Firms that are recruiting – Learn more about the CPA Profession Recruiters: – Chance for recruiters to meet the applicants

What to do Get out and meet the recruiters, students, partners etc. Be prepared with a simple introduction and generic questions to break the ice Make an impression – make sure you are remembered Talk with recruiters – what do you know about the training office, why are you a great fit for them, who are you as a person Leave a business card and ask for a business card – you can use this to make sure you have the proper spelling of names on your CACEE Form Pick up information about firms – if available

How to prepare Prepare a quick introduction to break the ice – Name – School – with major and year of study – What do you want to know more about the firm or explain something about yourself that fits with what you know about the firm – Prepare 3 questions about the firm what is their training program for new staff (duration, mentorship, etc)/do they use a team approach to account management – if yes how are the teams made up/group activities outside of the office?/what is the layout of their offices – cubicles, open floor plan – what is the recruiters thoughts on that layout and impact on the office dynamic
