While you might recognize some of these communities, it is important to remember that, unfortunately, environmental barriers exist to some extent in every community. These case studies are provided simply to stimulate thought and discussion.

Planning Your Personal Transit Experience In the Personal Transit Experience module, turn to page 7 for the “Trip Planning Worksheet” Use this worksheet to list the details for your trip To get assistance with trip planning, contact your local transit provider’s customer assistance line or use an online trip planner, if available
Tips for Planning Your Personal Transit Experience Refer to the “Personal Planning Checklist” on page 13 of the Personal Transit Experience module prior to your trip Allow adequate time to walk to the stop or station and to complete the “Environmental Barrier Analysis and Options for Remedy” worksheet on page 9 Allow adequate time aboard the vehicle to make observations
