How we got here Save-Bees was founded in 2009, driven by ecological and scientific researches. We realized that the future of beekeeping lied in apiary devices that would remotely transfer, valuable beehive data. Also, by developing Anti-Theft protection, beekeepers would secure their hives in cases of theft or unexpected relocations. Products Beehive Data Transfer Device Our Data Transfer Device is placed underneath the beehive and transfers data about : The weight of each beehive Internal / External temperature of the hive External Humidity of the hive Competitive advantages : o Energy saving design, almost up to eight months battery mode operation (rechargeable batteries). o Real time information of the beehive’s status, directly sent to your mobile phone, via your local network provider o Centralized weight monitoring : A main unit can collect weight data from units in multiple beehives (located at short distance with wired connection), offering an overall weight monitoring. o Customization of data transfer rate, according to the beekeeper’s needs. o The data transfer device runs on Lazarus mode, it turns on only to transmit hive data. Products Anti-Theft Device Our Anti-Theft Device informs you about the accurate location of your beehives with the usage of GPS integration. The Anti-Theft Device can be used for detecting relocations of the hives, in cases of theft or unexpected relocations. It is placed on the inside of the hive and therefore, it is undetectable from the outside. Key Features : The Anti-Theft device runs on Lazarus mode, it turns on only when its sensors pick up an unexpected relocation of the hive. When activated, it sends two “Help” SMS messages containing the exact coordinates of your hive, via your local network provider. It can be remotely turned off, in cases of false alarm triggering. The Anti-Theft device can be disabled manually, during a hive inspection. Graphics and charts example The following measurements were recorded at a beehive located in Menalo Greece, between the 20 th of April 2015 and 3 d of May The charts were created by collecting data about the weight, the internal and external temperature and the external environment humidity. The data transfer rate was set up by the local beekeeper. By using the following charts, the beekeeper was able to collect valuable information about his honey production process. In addition, the beekeeper was able to spot and resolve any problems that occurred during this period.

On Going Projects RF Transmitter Units (under development) We are currently working on a centralized Anti-Theft system with the integration of small RF transmitter Units. These units will be connected to a main Anti-Theft GPS device using wireless connection. The moment they pick up any kind of unusual relocation, the main Anti-theft unit will send “Help” messages directly to your mobile phone. Example : Suppose that you have 30 beehives at your possession. You can place one main GPS Anti-theft device on one hive and 29 RF Units to the remaining hives. If one of the RF equipped hives gets relocated, it will instantly activate and turn on the main Anti-theft unit. Then, the main Anti- theft unit will send two “Help” messages directly to your phone, including the ID of the hive that was relocated.

On Going Projects Data transfer device with satellite network integration (under development) We are also working on upgrading our data transfer device to a device that will transfer data through a satellite network. With this upgrade you will be able to receive your data directly from a satellite. Furthermore you will not depend on your local area network provider and its signal strength.
