Standardized Assessments Diagnostic tools used at RCHK to support teaching and learning. There are many other assessment tools and strategies teachers on a regular basis by classroom and specialist teachers.

PIPS PIPS - End of Year Assessment The assessment starts from where the student finished (the beginning of Year 1). The assessment measures students progress over the year as well as level of attainment.

Narrative Criteria Content - quality and range of ideas presented, development of plot, characters and setting, the writer’s sense of audience and purpose. Language - sentence and paragraph structure, vocabulary and punctuation, and the writer’s voice Spelling - student’s knowledge of phonetic and visual spelling patterns + the kinds of words attempted, accuracy of spelling

Exposition / Argument Criteria Content depth and range of ideas; quality of reasoning demonstrated in the ability to provide evidence and logical argument in support of a position. Language focuses on the grammatical correctness command of English syntax, sentence fluency and variation and vocabulary. Structure and Organization overall structure of the writing, for example the presence of a clear introduction, development and conclusion, as well as its internal coherence, such as linking between and within paragraphs. User Name Password Login to the Gateway. Your parent user name and password are the same as the one you use for e-payment. All parents who have not logged in to the Gateway within the last six months will have their passwords reset and ed to them.

The first time you log in you will have to confirm your child’s birth date and set a new password. Once you have completed this click the ARR menu and select ARR Report. The Parent Home Screen

If you have more than one child attending Renaissance College you will need to select the child you wish to view from the student select menu. Click the view link to see each subject. This screen shows the subject results. To see the next subject select the subject from the subject menu. The Online Report Screen

Printing On the Report screen click the printing tab. Select the student for printing. Select the PYP template from the template menu. Click the Print button When prompted choose open with Adobe Acrobat. You can download Adobe Acrobat Reader for free from adobe.com. (Windows and Mac OS X) Preview will not work. (Mac OS X Only)
