Market Driven Biosolids Management Goal is to generate revenue and/or reduce cost. Products are blended, shred, screened, loaded trucked, spread, dozed and seeded. Product should have low plasticity, need to be friable. Products need to be dry; > 50% solids. Low solids biosolids require special handling considerations. “Not Third Party Friendly”.

WeCare Thin Film Dryer

Thin Film Drying for Enhanced Dewatering Proposed to be used as extension of dewatering mechanism. Simple, single pass, indirect drying application. Can be run in line with existing dewatering facilities.. Reduce tonnage/volume by over 50%.

WeCare Thin Film Dryer Dryer can be used as stand alone or in combination with alkaline technology, composting technology, incineration, anaerobic digestion, gasification or landfilling Used to dry pasty, viscous materials that are difficult to dry ( no fouling) Dryer can receive low solids cake without back mixing. Dryer is used to “scalp” moisture to a range of 35% to 70% solids Removes Water at 1250 btu / # H20 removed. Fire not issue below 65% solids. Indirect Dryer uses thermal oil, steam or hot water Indirect dryer uses little CFM. Little air to treat.

WeCare Thin Film Dryer Dryer can be run of off natural gas, propane, #2 bunker fuel, landfill gas or digester gas. Dryer can utilize waste heat off of industry or CHP systems. Dryer does not require digestion process prior to drying, however digestion may provide renewable energy. There are more than 80 sludge drying installations with references in Europe, USA, China, Arabia…… Dryers have been in operation for more than 20 years.

Conclusion Stop hauling Water. Higher solids means higher value per ton. Higher solids means better physical properties. Higher solids means less secondary processing. Higher solids means higher organic content. Higher solids means higher value/revenue.

Thank you Michael Nicholson
