 Depending on what kind of drugs you use as in Cocaine and Methamphetamine.  Just these two drugs alone are powerful stimulants of the central nervous system.  If the mother is taking these drugs in late pregnancy the baby can become drug dependent, in other words addicted and will suffer withdrawal symptoms: - Sleeplessness, muscle spasms, and sucking difficulties, difficulties breathing and other defects may occur later.

 There isn’t really anything wrong with what they look like. The drug only effects their body on the inside, but some babies do look exhausted and they tend to be crying a lot because of the muscle spasms. May even began to look a little skinny cause they have sucking difficulties and its hard for them to eat.

 You can prevent this by not doing drugs at all. Simple as that, no drug is worth risking your baby’s life.

 Most of the babies Need to stay in the Hospital because They usually have Breathing problems..

 Why would sucking difficulties be a problem to newborns of a drug addict mother?  What is one major side affect that your baby will be up against if the mother uses drugs during pregnancy?
