What is a Hate Crime? According to the Anti-Defamation League, a hate crime is “an act or an attempted act by any person against the person or property of another individual or group which is in any way constitutes an expression of hostility toward the victim because of his/her race, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, gender or ethnicity.” In addition, hate crimes are motivated by bias and hate.
