Today’s goals Recognize the dilemma that European countries had in dealing with Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini Understand three essential question associated with World War 2 Name the event that brings the USA into World War 2 Use a text tagging strategy in order to define ways the USA’s homefront helped the war effort

Dilemma I am going to read a dilemma to you that could take place in any school in the US. As you listen to this story, I want you to predict what will happen next. How does this story connect to the rise of dictators and the start of WW2?

Go visual poster with your 9 o clock partner – 15 minutes Pick one essential question/statement State it at the top of your paper Create a visual representation of the facts that support your answer for it.

Turning essential questions into statements Instruction on turning questions into statements. Turn to your elbow partner and answer verbally how you would make this question a statement: How did countries in Europe appease Hitler prior to World War 2?

Essential Questions – World War 2 Section 1 Section 1 – How did dictators acquire and expand power in Europe in the 1930s? In the Graphic Organizer, list (2) facts for each dictator and Restate the question as a statement. Section 2 – Section 2 – How did peaceful nations confront foreign aggressors in World War 2?
