Schedule for Tonight Introduction Binders: BFB and PK Student expectations during homeroom Advisory Discipline English Language Arts Social Studies Reading 6:25 move to room 201, Mrs. Pappas 6:40 meet with Specialists

Homeroom Expectations Students will begin every day by making sure they have with them: BFB, PK, water, and snack. Students will manipulate the Smart Board to show they are present. Students should remain in their seats, but may talk with the other students at their table. Students will have time to write in their assignment notebook the homework for the night. Advisory 1:50-2:00-Mandatory silent reading 2:00-2:15-Homework done first!! o Work on any unfinished class work. o Read silently 2:15-2:18-Put away your materials. o Check your Agenda and make sure you have what you need for homework tonight. o Cleanup! Check for anything on the floor around/under your desk and put it away or in the trash. o Gather your things onto your desk to go home 2:20 -LISTEN to announcements o Wait for Mrs. Kwiatek to say goodbye

Discipline 3 Strikes you’re out!! Strike 1- Warning Strike 2- Removal from the situation within the room/remove the problem Strike 3- Hallway *If you are sent to the hallway 3 times you will be sent to the office for detention. 

English Language Arts Focus on journal writing, the writing process, and grammar Students will have a grammar worksheet and a writing piece as a weekly homework assignment due on Thursdays. We will work on larger writing pieces in school and use the writing process. Tests on grammar will include a writing part. Tests will be given on Fridays.

Social Studies Focus on settling North and South America with emphasis on the beginnings of our Nation. Students will be involved in group and individual projects mostly done in school. Tests will be given at the end of each chapter.

Reading Spelling homework due on Fridays Spelling test on Fridays Basal reader with accompanying workbook Trade books done as whole group with individual responsibilities
