Self Confidence By: Shawnda Howard

1. Build on Strengths  Knowing your strengths helps you feel better about yourself. Focusing on weaknesses will hinder success. Self esteem brings about self improvement, true assessment, and determination.

2. Embrace Uniqueness  Loving who you are and the skin you are in helps to promote self confidence. Appreciate yourself for the person God created.

3. Reduce Self Criticisim  We all have aspects or qualities we dislike about ourselves, but we need to shift focus from the negative qualities to the positive qualities.

4. Focus on Positives  Work on improving or altering the negative aspects rather than focusing on what is wrong always.

5. Take a good look at People  If we surround ourselves with bulldozers, brown nosers, gossipmongers, whiners, backstabbers, snipers, the walking wounded, controllers, naggers, complainers, and patronizers. We could become like them. Instead surround yourself with people who make you feel good about yourself.

6. Learn to Laugh Having a sense of humor and being able to laugh helps improve the way you feel about yourself.
