THE BOSTON MASSACRE

Trouble in Boston 1.In 1768, British soldiers were sent to Boston to keep order. 2.On March 5, 1770, the soldiers fired on an angry mob of colonists. 3.The colonists in Boston did not want the British soldiers there.

Propaganda 1.Paul Revere’s engraving showed soldiers firing on innocent colonists. It was shown in many newspapers in all of the colonies. 2.The event led to more protesting.

Results British soldiers were put on trial and defended by John Adams later our 2 nd President) Two soldiers were found guilty and received light sentences. Seven soldier were found not guilty. This included Captain Preston.
