 One of the first outspoken opponents of British taxation policies.  “THE RIGHTS OF THE BRITISH COLONISTS ASSERTED AND PROVED ”  Famous pamphlet written by Otis  Severely beaten in a Boston coffee house.  Considered a martyr among Boston patriots

 Fiery supporter of Liberty.  Active member of Sons of Liberty and created the colony’s first COMMITTEE OF CORRESPONDENCE.

 Formed throughout the colonies as a means of coordinating action against Great Britain.  Many were formed by the legislatures of the respective colonies, others by associations such as the Sons of Liberty in the various colonies.  Members of these organizations represented the leading men of each colony.

 A wealthy man, earned reputation of a smuggler of goods.  His ship, Liberty was impounded by customs officials at Boston Harbor, on a charge of running contraband goods.  Led to many actions in Boston against the British, including the Boston Tea Party.

 Silversmith and famous illustrator, whose image of the Boston Massacre became iconic.  His engravings were used by patriots as anti- British propaganda, particularly his famous engraving of the Boston Massacre.

 Wise advocate of Liberty and member of the First and Second Continental Congress.  Defense attorney for the British soldiers in the trial that followed the Boston Massacre.  Second cousin of Samuel.  Married to Abigail Adams.

 Supporter of Liberty and strong advocate of women’s rights throughout the colonies.  Wrote many letters to her husband, John, providing political commentary and detailing the Revolution.
