 Had a poor family  Dad leaves and she gets a new step dad  Mom dies and she is left alone with her step dad and siblings  With new step dad they still were poor

 Step dad forced Sopheap to do chores and stop paying for her education  Step dad would beat her  She got tired of it and left with her step dads niece Kaliyan (age 30)  Kaliyan lies saying that she was going to be a maid instead she becomes a sex slave  Her and a girl she meets escape and purposely go to jail

The result was that they finally got out of jail because of two people from the Cambodian Women’s Crisis Center. Sopheap finally got to see her brother and she tries to contact him as much as possible. Sopheap lives with her godmother now selling fruit drinks and food. Sopheap lost touch of Mum.

 The reason I found this topic interesting was because I wanted to know more about human trafficking and this article did show me what they go through.  It stood out to me because this 16 year old girl got tricked into doing this by her step fathers niece.
