UDL provides a blueprint for creating instructional goals, methods, materials, and assessments that work for everyone--not a single, one-size-fits-all solution but rather flexible approaches that can be customized and adjusted for individual needs.

6.RP.1 Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. Write any ratio that you can see depicted in the tape diagram below.

How could a tape diagram be used to solve the problem: 3 out of 5 students in Mr. Barnes’ class prefer chocolate ice cream. If there are 30 students in the class, how many prefer chocolate ice cream?

How could a tape diagram be used to solve the problem: 5 out of 8 students at a nearby private school are female. If there are 100 females enrolled, how many total students are enrolled at the school?

How could a tape diagram be used to solve the problem: The number of books in the school library was increased by 20% to 180 books. Find the number of books before the increase.

 Opportunities to collaborate with other teachers, receive “Just in Time” PD, and attend learning labs to watch tasks implemented with actual students.  Will be held one Wednesday a month.  Individuals who register in advance and attend at least 2 hours will be paid workshop wages!
