Practice Activity Students can be paired together to fill out the graphic organizer and make a Cinquain poem of their own using any of the three patterns. The teacher will walk around and help as needed, also giving feedback. Students will have the option to share their poems with the class afterwards.

Assessment Activity Students will write a cinquain poem using one of the three patterns.

Practice Students will use the graphic organizer revise/ draft a cinquain poem. Show students the graphic organizer. Allow them to use the prewriting organizer for reference. Students will fill in each line according to the requirements.

Assessment Students will write a cinquain poem using one of the three patterns. Did students complete the graphic organizer? Did students use correct number of words for each line? Does the poem make sense?
