Regional Housing Strategy Vulnerable People Forum 2007 Hosted by VPIG Chair: Ceri Victory

2006/07 Achievements  Network Mapping Research  Barriers to securing and providing move-on accommodation  Relationship between RHB and CBs  Regional Database  Forum 2006!...

What you told us in 2006  Need to share data at regional level  The new emphasis on floating support isn’t matched by addressing need of accommodation supply  Improve dialogue between Housing Corporation & Supporting People  Make sure range of provider views available to Delivery Group  Tackle the disadvantaging of vulnerable people by choice-based lettings systems

What you told us in 2006…  Implement recommendations of move-on research  Promote diversity by supporting small and specialist providers  Look at sub-regional or regional commissioning for certain client groups  Champion ‘unpopular client groups’  Raise political awareness of Supporting People and sell the preventative benefits

2007/8 Delivery Plan  Take forward the move-on research…  …and examine the extent of the new focus on floating support  …and how access to accommodation has been adjusted to take this into account  Seek to influence LAAs

2007/8 Delivery Plan…  Continue to seek the involvement of service users in our work  Promote and develop the Database  Examine financial barriers to remodelling supported accommodation  Examine the significance of small / specialist providers at regional level

Over to you… See the South West Housing Body website for more information:
