Accomplishments The GIS Hub provides a buffet of data: Hub Explorer – interactive map for data display, query, and download, template for agency applications Metadata Explorer – search for data, find information on the data, download data FTP – download raster data Web Services – stream vector and raster data to desktop application

Accomplishments Vector download via Metadata Explorer and Hub Explorer – 48GB downloaded since March 2004 Hub Explorer upgraded – folders for layers and improved printing Metadata Explorer – New categories: in progress and downloadable data Raster download via FTP – 1TB downloaded since June 2004 Grant from the USGS for National Map WMS

Accomplishments Coordinated Training – From February 2002 through March 2004, we have saved $39,000 in training costs alone The GIS Hub metadata on Geodata.gov GIS software in schools – GIS Day* Developed GIS Initiative brochure Seven-year plan – “Vision Document” developed (some in this presentation): (

Accomplishments - Applications Devils Lake Risk Assessment Sales Tax Rates DOT: Road Conditions, Load Restrictions, Road Construction State Water Commission: Well Inventory, Precipitation Information Game and Fish: Updated web site

Accomplishments – Hub Usage Averaging 35 concurrent database connections from state agency users 15 agencies set up for access GIS Hub Explorer: averaged 13,700 initial hits/month February-October and 97,800 requests/month same period

Current Work Roll multiple Hub Explorers into one Merging in the Geological Survey clearinghouse (GS web page will point to Hub) Data compilation

Goals Contribute GIS Hub OGC web services to the USGS “National Map” Work more closely with local government, identify partnering opportunities: Data sharing & hosting Data acquisition Metadata hosting Others listed in Vision Document Funding for
