Fundraising committee Our goal is to help facilitate fundraising opportunities at the association and individual level to help reduce registration fees and to increase exposure to youth hockey in the Stillwater and surrounding areas to strengthen participation and retention in SAHA.

TAYE Fundraiser SAHA families have the opportunity to participate in fundraising through Tartan Area Youth Enrichment (TAYE). This is a great way to subsidize YOUR family's hockey costs. Funds earned can be used to offset 2015-2016 hockey registration fees and team fees.   Tartan Area Youth Enrichment, Inc. has contracted with Delaware North at Target Field in Minneapolis and other various event promoters to staff concession stands with volunteer workers in exchange for a percentage commission on all sales in those stands. Beginner Mites Typical Ages Range from 4-6 Learn to Skate Group – New to Skating - Approximately 30 Players Learn to Play Hockey Group – New to Hockey - Approximately 30 Skaters New to 2015-2016 Season, Program ran by Jackie Loughrey – Stillwater Skating Director Players will practice 1x per week Two games will be played at the Lumberyard (Friday night Mite Night) and Players will participate in our Jamboree at the end of the year SAHA Players get 50% off enrollment for the Rec Center’s Learn to Skate Courses (Tiny Tots, Tots, Pre-Alpha)

Intermediate mites & U8 LevEl 1 Typical Ages Range from 5-7 Boys are placed in Intermediate Mites – Projected 4-5 Teams for 2015-2016 Season Girls are placed in U8 Level 1 – Projected 2 Teams for 2015-2016 Season Players will practice 2x per week Games will be played against other SAHA Intermediate Level Teams at the Lumberyard (Friday Night Mite Night) and Players will participate in our Jamboree at the end of the year Coaching Staff is made up of Parent Volunteers that are certified with USA Hockey SAHA Players get 50% off enrollment for the Rec Center’s Learn to Skate Courses (Tiny Tots, Tots, Pre-Alpha)

Upper Mites & U8 Levels 2 and 3 Typical Ages Range from 6-9 Boys are placed in Black, White, or Red Levels – 2 Projected Black Teams, 2 Projected White Teams, and 3-4 Projected Red Level Teams Girls are placed in U8 Levels 2 or 3 – Projected 2 U82 Teams, and 1 U83 Team for 2015-2016. Season Players are placed at the appropriate levels after completing an assessment, which will be October 22nd through 25th (skate Thursday or Friday, Saturday and Sunday) Upper Level Red and U82 Teams will practice 2x per week and every 3 weeks at the Lumberyard, will have the opportunity to play against other District teams after January 1st, and will participate in our end of the year Jamboree Upper Level White, Black and U83 Teams will practice 3x per week and every other week at the Lumberyard, participate in our Thanksgiving 3x3 Tournament at the Lumberyard, play games against other District teams after January 1st, and will participate in our end of the year Jamboree Coaching Staff is made up of Parent Volunteers that are certified with USA Hockey

Mite/U8 Program Goal Introduce the game of hockey to our boys and girls, focus on skill development while providing a fun and positive experience for our players.

2 Coach Workshops this Fall! “Double-Goal Coach®: Coaching for Winning and Life Lessons” This workshop introduces PCA’s Double-Goal Coach model and presents research from experts in coaching, education and sports psychology.. The workshop provides an in-depth exploration of the three principles of Positive Coaching: Honoring the Game, Filling Emotional Tanks and the ELM Tree of Mastery. Coaches who attend this workshop should be able to: • Adopt the “Double-Goal” mental model for coaching, which means 1) striving to win while 2) teaching life lessons • Utilize concrete tools to put Positive Coaching values into practice • Help players deal with nervousness and fear of failure • Create a mastery environment by: • Focusing on effort over results • Focusing on athlete self-improvement over comparison with others • Teaching athletes how to bounce back from mistakes • Contribute to a positive youth sports culture by creating an “Honoring the Game” culture 2 Coach Workshops this Fall!

Boys Team’s Registration Bantams: 87 Skaters and 10 goalies for 97 players (Projected 7 teams) Pee Wees: 93 skaters and 8 goalies for 101 players (Projected 7 teams) Squirts: 84 skaters and 6 goalies for 90 players (Projected 6 teams)

SAHA Player Development Bill Kohn

Player Development Mission: Develop and implement programs for players and coaches of all levels that will enhance our athletes overall playing experience as well as their individual skill development.

Player Development Methodology: Institute a Top Down Player Development Model Enlist the support and involvement of our High School Coaches Incorporate skill development sessions as the foundation for our players/coaches development matrix for the entire season. Skill development sessions will be incorporated throughout the course of the season and will become the “new” normal for your players experience in SAHA. (No more isolated or one-off sessions) We will combine the resources of our talented coaches and that of a highly experienced professional development staff

Player Development Attributes of our Professional Staff: Have a passion for the sport of hockey and the ability to promote enthusiasm with players and coaches of all levels. Have extensive experience in both coaching and playing. Will serve as an extension of Boys & Girls Player Development committees and the Board in developing programs consistent with the vision of SAHA. Will serve as a resource to coaches and players of all levels

Player Development Our Professional Staff includes: Matt Doman, Tony Scheid and Scott Bjugstad Diane Ness, Andy Ness, Jesse Sampair, Troy Stevens and members of Pro Edge Staff Winny Brodt Brown & Justin Brown, and members of the OS Training Staff

Player Development Core Components: Skating Training-Each team will have 2 team full ice training sessions per month Shooting-Each team will have professional shooting instruction as a component of the Lumberyard training sessions Stick handling-Each team will have their individual team coaches lead the through a professionally designed stick handling curriculum during their Lumberyard Training Sessions Core Strength Training-Each team will have their individual team coaches lead the through a professionally designed core strength training curriculum during their Lumberyard Training Sessions Goaltending Training-Each team (goalie) will have professional goalie instruction from MEGA Goaltending as a component of the Lumberyard Training sessions

Player Development Lumberyard Training Session Rotation: 4 teams per night for 15 weeks. (6pm-9:55pm) Each Rotation includes a 2 hour block for training Stick handling-30 minute pre-scripted session lead by coaches Core Strength Training-30 minute pre-scripted session lead by coaches /parent volunteers Shooting and skating-45 on-ice session which will be lead by a combination of Scott Bjugstad and the individual team coaches Goaltending Training- Will be conducted simultaneously with team training on the small ice surface at the Lumberyard.
