Intra-club Workshop – January 28 th Small Sided Games - Theory

Intra-club Workshop – January 28 th Small Sided Games - Playing Dimensions Be flexible and apply common sense Under 6sUnder 8sUnder 10sUnder 12s Field SizeAn eighth of a field An eighth of a field or a quarter field Quarter fieldQuarter or Half field Number of players on the field 4v4 4v4 (Eighth) 5-6 v 5-6 (Quarter) 5v5 or 6v6 5-6 v 5-6 (Quarter) 7-8 v 7-8 (Half) Ball Type‘Mini’ Standard Game Length2 x 15 min halves2 x min halves2 x 20 min halves2 x 25 min halves

Intra-club Workshop – January 28 th Girls Only/Divisions/Age Groups If enough players are playing, why not have them playing with their peers? - Rather than having a 5 year old girl playing against a 10 year old boy. Players have more fun, make friends, develop faster when playing with their peers. - Think about how kids play together at school? Offering girls only options will increase the attractiveness of the sport to new participants and increase player retention rates

Intra-club Workshop – January 28 th Inclusion Our Vision “To be the safe, welcoming and inclusive community sport of choice for ALL Victorians” How can we include all Victorians? What can we do to make our Intra-club more accessible to: – People of all abilities? – People from CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) and Indigenous Backgrounds? – Women and Girls in sport? – People from disadvantaged backgrounds?

Intra-club Workshop – January 28 th IMG Registrations All Intra-Club participants will need to be registered online and pay $35 individual membership HV will activate all clubs Intra-Club subscription Clubs to set their own additional fees Once registered, players now eligible to play in HV competitions
