Introduction  Home of MLB’s san Francisco giants  Opened in April  Cost to build was $357 million. SBC park is a state of the art baseball facility that is also equipped for other events.  Privately funded.  SBC park was built to provide the ultimate fan experience with all modern amenities and more.

Financing  New stadium needed to be built in order to keep giants from moving out of san Francisco  Built by peter Magowan, principle owner of the giants, and several partners whom are all san Francisco businessmen.  Privately funded using none of san Francisco’s general tax money.  $357 million was total cost of construction. $170 million loan from chase Manhattan bank, $102 million from the sale of naming rights (SBC corporation through 2024), $70 million from the sale of charter seats, and $15 million from a hotel/motel tax.

Revenue Vs. Expenses  The san Francisco giants are valued at $381 million dollars, the 9 th largest in major league baseball. Peter Magowan purchased the team in 1992 for $100 million.  The total revenue of the park for 2004 was $159 million. The operating expense for SBC park in 2004 was $8.4 million. Along with other expenses including stadium debt, salaries, and various expenses was estimated around $45 million dollars.  Major corporate sponsors of the SBC park include coca cola, old navy, bank of America, Anheiser Busch, and Toyota.  SBC park has hosted over 3 million patrons to its events every year since its opening in 2000.

Amenities 1.SBC park has its own line of transportation for fans to come to park events. They include their own subway line, bus service, and ferry service, along with 8-10 thousand parking spaces. 2.In center field is the coca cola fan lot. Fans can participate in a number of activities including a mega slide, pitching cage, a mini field where fans can play a game, and a san Francisco giants hall of fame club seats, 50 luxury suites, multiple retail and concession stands, and modern lighting technology. 4.McCovey cove is a waterfront park outside the stadium, but a home run ball hit far enough out of the park will land in the water. 5.SBC park is the first professional sporting venue to offer Wi-Fi network

Conclusions/Improvements  SBC Park is one of the top professional sporting venues that is constantly working to improve fan experience at the park.  SBC Park is easy to get to, but fans wait a long time to get into the park  Non-Alcohol area of the park would be good for a family.
