What is step one in writing a five paragraph essay?

Think of a great hook.

What should be in the introduction in order to get people “hooked” into reading the essay?

A rhetorical question or quote

Explain what a thesis statement is and where it is found.

It tells you what the whole essay will be about. It is generally found at the end of the first paragraph.

How many body paragraphs are there in a Five Paragraph Essay?

There are three.

How should you wrap up your essay in the conclusion?

Recap/restate and remind by restating the thesis statement

What is exposition?

This usually occurs at the beginning of a short story. Here the characters are introduced. We also learn about the setting of the story. Most importantly, we are introduced to the main conflict

What is rising action?

This part of the story begins to develop the conflict(s).

What is the climax?

This is the turning point of the story. Usually the main character comes face to face with a conflict.

What is falling action?

All loose ends of the plot are tied up. The conflict(s) and climax are taken care of.

What is resolution?

The story comes to a reasonable ending.
