B.A.S.S. High School

Build it and they will come… Create the destination, they will pursue it Unrestricted growth not limited to BFN resources, budgets or volunteer manpower. An attractive high school program will draw from high school age students within each school as well as the B.A.S.S. Youth program B.A.S.S. High school should feed the College Series Leading to life long B.A.S.S. membership and stewards of the resource

Purpose Connecting young anglers with the outdoors. Developing responsible champions of our natural resources through the sport of fishing. Creating opportunity for character development, education and values uniquely found within the sportsmanship etiquette and integrity of this national pastime.

B.A.S.S. High School Nation Students that are in the 9 th,10 th, 11 th or 12 th grade Develop a High school Website with Pro Tips, boaters safety course, photo galleries, online fishing contests Develop a “how to” online Video, and literature to help students and advisors/coaches with getting a club started in their high school Competition at a state, regional and national level Must be a B.A.S.S. and BFN member $20

Eligibility to Compete Must be on the roster of an official HS club and recognized by HS Must be a B.A.S.S. member and Federation Nation Member (insurance) special combined price $20 Must have a club advisor/mentor (offer discounted B.A.S.S. Membership) Club must have at least two active (2) members Each student must attend the HS in which they represent. EXCEPTION: with ANNUALLY documented proof of denial to form a club in their high school, on school letterhead, signed by the principal, explaining reasons for denial, six (6) students may form a district, county, home school or church high school club. Eligibility begins at the conclusion of the B.A.S.S. High School National Championship following graduation from the 8 th grade, and ends after the BHSNC following a child's senior year. Must meet GPA requirements of the High School they attend.

Eligibility to Compete cont.….. Each club member must complete sixteen (16) hours of community service per school year. Each club must complete one (1) conservation project per school year Each club member must complete a US Coast Guard approved boaters safety course Clubs are responsible for acquiring one boat and boat captain for each team (two anglers) entering each event. The B.A.S.S. Shield must be present on the front of your club jersey or hat. School name and colors must be prominently displayed on your jersey. For every competing tournament trail logo(s) that is present on your jersey, there must be one (1) B.A.S.S. shield or B.A.S.S. logo of equal size or larger. Must comply and qualify in accordance with all BHS rules

State Tournament State BN’s administer the state tournament under BHSN rules All HS Students that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible to compete at the state tournament The winning team, as well as the team finishing in the runner up position, receive an automatic birth into the BHSNC. The state champions are also invited to fish two days, Thursday and Friday, as part of the adult state team at their corresponding divisional. State determines awards

B.A.S.S. High School Championship B.A.S.S. staff administers the BHSC Multi-Day event in summer with family activities, seminars 94 possible two person teams advance (possibly 108 more should foreign countries choose to participate) 3 day competition. Day 1 and 2 full field fishes Day 3 cut to the “Super Six” to determine the B.A.S.S High School National Champions Plan to televise on ESPNU Scholarships and awards provided to the students and their school. Provided adequate funding is available.
