Bell Ringer (Monday, Sept. 9) In the year 1900 a person’s life expectancy was about 48 years. In 2001, it was nearly 77 years. What do you think contributed to the increase (pg. 11)?

Bell Ringer (Tuesday, Sept. 10)  Refer to Table 1-1 (pg. 5)  Compare causes of death between 1900 and now. Why did some increase while others decrease? Be specific!

Bell Ringer (Thursday, Sept. 12)  People that practice poor health habits are sick more often. Should people with poor heath habits (smoking, poor diet, etc.) have to pay more for health insurance? Why or why not?
