Grading 70 % Assessments (Tests and Quizzes) 20% Concept Checks (Mini Quizzes) 10% Homework Tests and Quizzes: Will be announced several days in advance and date posted on the 7B calendar on the web page. Study guides will be posted on my web page as well points each. If a student is absent they must make up the assessment upon returning. Concept Checks: Will be unannounced but will cover material reviewed in class. 10 points each. Homework: Must be complete for full credit with all work shown. 100 points each

Benchmarks Students will be administered 3 benchmark assessments during the year that are tied to course big ideas and standards. These tests will not be graded, but rather serve as guideposts for progress and concepts that need more or less instruction and practice.

Skill of the Month Practice problems to review previously taught skills and concepts that students need to maintain. Students may work on them at home or during the ELO period. Packets will count as a homework grade based on completion and will be assessed by a concept check the day after the packet it due.

Homework Students can access their homework assignments daily on my webpage on the school website. Homework should be completed as if it were being graded and problems need to be attempted for full credit. Absences: If you are absent, you have as many days as you were absent to complete your missed assignments.

Typical Day in Math 7 Class Students begin with a Warm Up or Do Now Exercise Students check solutions to previous night’s homework assignment and ask questions Class reads introduction to problem from textbook Students work individually, in pairs, or small groups to complete the problem Teacher circulates around classroom answering and asking questions Class presents solutions and summarizes problem and concepts learned Students copy homework assignment into planners Last minute concerns/questions
