GRC/OZ Monthly Tag Up – 11 Glenn Research Center Mission Integration and Planning Increments – GRC Payload Planning (Cont’d) IPM: IPM: B. Rhone/ D. McConnell LIS Rep: Parneet Kaur / Andrew Tucker / Jason Levy CEF CEF # 3222 – SLICE removal from Inc 31/32 CEF # 3216 – Update GRC Inc 31/32 PTP CEF # Delete BXF from Increment IDRD. BXF was returned on ULF7 and no longer on ISS. CEF# Add FCF Resupply to HTV-3 flight CEF # This CEF is to trash the MDCA Radiometer which was recently replaced by the crew with the newer and improved MDCA Radiometer II. The MDCA Radiometer (P/N 67235MFAC13900) has a mass of 1.07 kg and dimensions of 12.4 x 8.2 x 8 cm. The MDCA Radiometer is no longer needed on orbit and is not required for return. CEF# Correct the HTV3 manifest and update SpaceX-1 upmass request ( Deletes one FCF H/W Item from HTV3, corrects the mass for two hardware items, and corrects a part name and part number for another H/W Item. Due to the correction of the two mass numbers total FCF Resupply on HTV3 goes up 1.2 kg. Additionally this CEF adds additional H/W to SpaceX-1. This additional hardware adds 28.8 kg to the FCF Resupply previously shown in the PTP) CEF# Reduce the FCF Launch Manifest aboard HTV3 ( One pair of MDCA Needles will not be able to make the HTV3 flight having failed a critical flow test and verification. The MDCA Needles are used to deliver liquid fuel within the CIR for combustion experiments) CEF # Add BCAT Adaptor to HTV3 ( This CEF adds a new component to support the BCAT series of experiments. In October 2011, Mike Fossum created a new setup when installing the BCAT-6 sample module. The new set up provided BCAT with several efficiencies and benefits, however also introduced an unanticipated and undesirable sway of the module resulting in less than perfect imaging over long term sessions. To avoid this, BCAT requires almost daily crew intervention to re-align the set up. (tweaking both camera and sample positions) This new component would eliminate the sway and thereby result in more stable images and result in less crew intervention as well as improve the quality of the images and thereby improving obtained science data. ) Status: Approved Status: Approved Status: Approved Status: Approved

GRC/OZ Monthly Tag Up – 12 Glenn Research Center Mission Integration and Planning Increments – GRC Payload Planning (Cont’d) IPM: IPM: B. Rhone/ D. McConnell LIS Rep: Parneet Kaur / Andrew Tucker / Jason Levy CEF CEF # Correct FCF HTV3 Manifest to include a Part 3 Item (Add needle covers to MDCA Needles) This CEF is to correct the HTV3 manifest for FCF Hardware. A Part 3 item was missed as part of the original manifest. This correction has NO impacts to mass, volume, PTP, operations, verifications, safety or otherwise. CEF # Additional SPICE & BASS hardware return on SPX-1 (the return of the SPICE Camera and 41 additional tapes for the BASS experiment to return on SPX-1. This accounts for 52 total digital tapes for BASS and 26 tapes for SLICE. ) CEF # Correct MDCA Needle Holder 2 Dimension -This CEF Corrects a Typo in the MR Loader for the MDCA Needle Holder 2 (P/N 67235MFAL21001) The CORRECT Dimensions are x 6.40 x 7.50 CM Status: Approved The final On-Orbit Operations Summary (OOS) was released on April 10, Due to I-30 rollover, planned trouble-shooting, and shortend Increment duration, Increment 31/32 crew time is completely FULL. Some prime requirements in Stage 32-6 were moved below the line based on science priority because of the limited allocation available for Utilization in this Stage. Any new requirements which adds crew time cannot be accommodated unless it is replaced with high priority science.

GRC/OZ Monthly Tag Up – 14 Glenn Research Center Mission Integration and Planning CEF CEF # 3291 – Request to re-run of both Experiment Units (EU) of the CCF experiment in Increment 33/34 utilizing 6.5 hrs of crew time CEF# Request for additional crew time for InSPACE-3 activities in Inc 33/34 and add SSE info to PTP ( Two new InSPACE activities need a total of 10 hours prior to InSPACE Ops. Also add SSE required for both Inc 31/32 (reserve) & 33/34 PTP InSPACE reqires two cameras (MSG supplied cameras) to be replaced on their hardware. This activity is outside the MSG work volume and would require the MWA. The other activity is a InSPACE Vial (sample) Inspection, which mixes and inspects all six new vials prior to operations ) CEF # 3413 – Update the downlink rate for ACE-1 from 38.9 to 22.2 per TCM comment. Dan Burbank operated Vane Gap 2 (VG-2) on March 1, This series of test was with VG-2 and open perforations in Quadrant 1. The 10 test points were per the test matrix for Vane Gap 2.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration FLEX-2 On-Orbit Operations Status Ops Complete (to date) Ops Planned (next month) Ops Planned (to completion) 25~ 8-12~ 400 April Highlight –Diagnostic Control Module (DCM-1) was removed and replaced on April 10, 2012 –Operations resumed April 12-13, There were no signs of DCM communication problems. This issue seems to be resolved. It appears the propylbenzene is does not ignite as easily as previous fuels. Soot production from propylbenzene combustion is significant but has not impeded imaging or data acquisition. –A Project Control Board was held April 17; a change of flight the iso-octane flight fuel to toluene was approved –A briefing was given to Tom Hartline, GRC Director of Engineering, et al, regarding the shipment and launch of n-octane rather than iso-octane to ISS Lessons Learned and process mitigations were briefed –The FLEX-2 team continues to obtain Surrogate Fuel test points using 100% propylbenzene (pure) and 50% n-decane/50% propylbenzene (50/50 mixture). –Twenty-five test points have been achieved to date. The PI team is very pleased with the quality of the droplet deployments and combustion data. Issues –Two months of operations lost due to boot up failure and IPSU Stack Anomaly (DCM failure)
