Amazing Grace

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see.

Twas grace that taught my heart to fear and grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed.

Thro’ many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come; Tis grace hath bro’t me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun, We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise then when we first begun.

2. God will not reveal more truth to you than you are capable of hearing. "I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.” John 16:12 Unlimiting What We Hear From God

3. The Lord will often speak to you today concerning what you will face tomorrow. "Then Joshua said to the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you." Josh 3:5 Unlimiting What We Hear From God

4. If you want to hear from God tomorrow obey what He is telling you today. "Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.” Hebrews 5:8 Unlimiting What We Hear From God

5. The infinite omniscient God has something to say in and through you. "I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who will do according to what is in My heart and in My soul…” 1 Sam. 2:35 Unlimiting What We Hear From God

6. If no one is responding to what you have to say perhaps it is your message, not God’s. "Can your visions be anything but false if you claim, `This message is from the LORD,' when I have not even spoken to you? Ezek 13:7 Unlimiting What We Hear From God

..is the first step to obedience. “Then Moses summoned all Israel, and said to them, "Hear, O Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I am speaking today in your hearing, that you may learn them and observe them carefully.” Deut 5:1 Spiritual Listening

..is an act of of humility. “And after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing.” 1 Kings 19:12 Spiritual Listening

... involves the heart and the mind. “ And He said to him, "'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' Matt 22:37 Spiritual Listening

... allows us to learn from others. “ But let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:19 Spiritual Listening

... is always followed by action. “ 10 And after He called the multitude to Him, He said to them, "Hear, and understand. Matt 15:10 Spiritual Listening

When there is a limit to what we hear from God, it’s a limit we have chosen for ourselves.
