The Basics  Builds capacity for districts and schools to improve student achievement through the use of the continuous improvement models  School and Districts Being Served in  Schools – 102 schools; 45 elementary, 25 middle, 32 high schools  Districts – 53

Eligibility Criteria  In a Federal Step of Improvement  State funds support improvement services and include schools that do not receive Federal Title I funds  Voluntary with 80% staff approval Selection is based on a combination of criteria including the number of AYP cells not met and the numbers of students with low performance.

Summit District Improvement Initiative (SDII)  Increase the capacity of participating districts to accelerate achievement for all students across the district system of schools.  Develop and field test Summit Initiative program elements intended to strengthen and expand the knowledge base, tools, and training of WA educators in support of a systems approach that can, with sufficient funding, be scaled statewide.
