Summer Food Service Program Numbers  An estimated 244,000 children are eligible for the Summer Meals Program.  2011/25,317 children were served (DHS)  2011/28,869 children were served (ADE)  2012/estimating 30,000 children (DHS-*data will not be final until November)  2012/incomplete data 29,149 children served (ADE) *Estimate 30,000 after all claims submitted by November  Governor Beebe’s goal is to serve 93,000 by the end of 2014.

Reaching the Goal  Partnering with Department of Education and other stakeholders to provide outreach and information to communities  Automating systems and reviewing processes to remove any barriers  Analyzing data with partners to ensure statewide coverage and look for opportunities to provide access  Technical assistance and training to staff and providers
