IHE Cardiology Year 2 Profiles Harry Solomon Co-chair, Technical Committee

Cardiology Planning Committee 7 March 2005 page 2 Process Planning Committee developed Profile Proposals (Sept-Nov) Technical Committee evaluated proposals for feasibility (Dec-Feb) Planning Committee confirms Year 2 scope and begins work on demo and marketing (now) Technical Committee publishes Tech Framework Supplements (Apr-Jun) Call for Year 2 participation (Jun) – sign-up by end of Aug

Cardiology Planning Committee 7 March 2005 page 3 Planning Cttee Profile Proposals 1.Cath lab workflow enhancement – build out from Year 1 (pre-cath, procedure log, reporting) 2.Echo workflow enhancement – build out from Year 1 (measurements, reporting) 3.Stress testing workflow – manage stress test w/wo imaging, integrate all results for reporting 4.Nuclear cardiology – integrate all stress test results for reporting 5.Registry data harvesting – gather and integrate information from disparate sources for outcomes research registries 6.Cross-enterprise document sharing – share data between clinician offices and in-patient environments

Cardiology Planning Committee 7 March 2005 page 4 Tech Cttee Evaluation Criteria Encourage additional participants through new profiles Balance against resources for Technical Framework and MESA Test Tools development Leverage existing profiles to extent possible Consolidate common processes from multiple sub-domains - may refactor proposals (mix and match) Avoid political battles

Cardiology Planning Committee 7 March 2005 page 5 Tech Cttee Proposed Profiles 1.Enhance existing Cath and Echo profiles with logs and measurements (“evidence documents”) 2.New Stress Workflow Profile leveraging actors and transaction concepts from Cath and Echo profiles 3.Include Simple Image and Numeric Report Profile (by reference to Radiology) for DICOM SR-based reporting 4.New Displayable Report Profile (based on SINR) for PDF- based reporting 5.Include Retrieve Information for Display Profile (by reference to IT Infrastructure) for intra-enterprise report distribution and access to non-cardiology reports 6.Include Cross-enterprise Document Sharing Profile (by reference to IT Infrastructure) for cross-enterprise report distribution
