The main characters of this story are Dink, Josh and Ruth Rose. They are friends who like to take trips together and solve mysteries. Dink likes to read and he gives every decision a lot of thought. Josh eats all the time. He has red hair and freckles. Josh likes to tease his friends especially Ruth Rose. Ruth Rose is a feisty girl with curly hair. She always wears one color in her outfits. Through out this story all of these friends work together to have fun, but also are able to solve a mystery.

The setting is on a small sunny island country in the Indian ocean called Costra. Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose are flying on an airplane to go visit their friend Sammi. It is his birthday and they are staying at his parents castle. After arriving on the island, the kids go to the beautiful castle and then head down to the beach. Walking around Costra they admired all the boats in the dock, especially this big yellow yacht in the bay. Throughout their trip they played on the beach and had fun with Sammi at his castle. While in Costra the kids all work together to solve a mystery on this island.

Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose went to visit their friend Sammi, the prince of Costra for his birthday. On the island they played on the beach and swam. In the bay, they notice a beautiful yellow yacht with the name Sundown written on the side. The owner let the kids come on board and take a look. The owner was acting a little strange, the kids thought. After returning back to the castle, there was a bank robbery. The alarms were echoing throughout the island. Dink, Josh, Ruth Rose and Sammi started to investigate this mystery and later on they were able to solve it.

While on the island Dink, Josh, Ruth Rose and Sammi were at his castle all of a sudden they heard an alarm going off in town. The kids headed out the door to see what was going on. They arrived outside the bank where the bank owner Mr. Baz was yelling, with his eyes bulging out and his hands waving in the air. He was yelling, “the bank vault has been broken into!” Sammi said, “they stole all of my fathers gold”. The kids went inside with the police to see what happened. The safe was wide open, chunks of concrete lay next to the opening and a big whole inside the vault floor.

Dink, Josh, Ruth Rose, and Sammi realized that who ever stole the gold would have to take it off the island by boat. The kids and Sammi’s parents were invited onto the yellow yacht by its owner Dr. Skor to have dinner with him. The kids noticed that the yacht was lower in the water then it use to be. They decided to go snorkeling, while they were snorkeling around the yacht they noticed at the bottom of the yacht was a cage that held all of the gold in it. The kids told the king and he called the police. The king received all his gold back and Dr. Skor was headed to jail.

What was the highlight of the book? The highlight of this book was Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose finding the King’s missing gold. Did you enjoy the book? Yes, I enjoyed this book. It was very exciting.
