Pet Puppy Sales Contract Our contracts are written to insure the safety and well-being of our puppies. We provide all potential puppy buyers with copies of our contract before the puppies are born. We are steadfast in our request that we ALWAYS be notified and allowed to take the puppy back should the need arise. This contract is for the purchase from Ray of Sunshine Golden Retrievers, herein referred to as the “Breeder” and the undersigned herein referred to as the “Buyer”. It is further agreed that the litter’s theme (common word, phrase, or topic) will also be used in the AKC registered name. This litter’s theme is __________________________________________. The said dog shall be spayed/neutered before within the first 6 months. The Buyer will not receive AKC papers until the Breeder receives written proof from a licensed veterinarian. This puppy is sold on a non-breeding contract registered with the AKC and as such cannot be bred while this contract is in effect. The Buyer agrees to take the responsibility for proper care of said puppy, as outlined in the guide “Taking Home Your New Puppy” given to each new owner and to take your new puppy to his/her veterinarian for regular health checks and inoculations. If for any reason, the Buyer cannot keep the said dog, the Breeder has the right to refusal. The said dog shall not be allowed to run at large. Proper fencing and/or proper supervision is required. This dog is NEVER to be tied out or chained. The said dog shall be given adequate and proper housing and in no instance may this dog be expected to be strictly an outside dog. The said dog shall be provided a well-balanced diet and fresh water its entire life. Your licensed veterinarian should examine this puppy within 72 hours of purchase. If your veterinarian determines the puppy to be ill, the buyer may return the puppy for a full refund, less the non-refundable deposit of $400.00, provided the puppy is returned in the same condition as at the time of purchase, and provided it is returned within one week of purchase. If the puppy is returned due to illness, a letter from your veterinarian is required. All expenses for returning the puppy are at the expense of the Buyer. The Breeder warrants that the said dog is a purebred Golden Retriever registered with the American Kennel Club. Registration papers will be provided along with a copy of its pedigree. To ensure that the puppy is registered with the AKC, the Buyer understands that the Breeder will register the puppy with the AKC. Breeder requires remaining balance of puppy 2 weeks prior to pick-up date. Mistreatment Clause This dog shall not be neglected nor mistreated in any manor. Should sufficient evidence be obtained indicating neglect or mistreatment, Breeder can and will remove this dog from the current owner. Owner upon request will relinquish all rights of ownership to the dog back to the Breeder with no compensation given.
