Christmas Appeal 2011 This year we need your help to make the Christmas Appeal as successful as possible so we are able to help as many children in our area as possible! Read on to find out about what the Christmas Appeal is, who we are, and how you can help… Thank you!

Rock FM and Magic 999s Cash For Kids Gift Appeal 2011 Our Gift Appeal is organised and delivered by Rock FM and Magic 999s Cash for Kids Charity which helps local disabled and disadvantaged children. Last year we received over £95,000 worth of toys, clothing, gifts and selection boxes. helping over 4400 children who each received approximately £20 worth of goodies. The campaign is sponsored by ASDA on Rock FM and Foresters on Magic 999. Adverts will start mid November on both radio stations and run up until Christmas. The message will change a few days before to a thank you message detailing how many children we have supported. Please note we will accept toys up until 23rd December The advert will ask the community to purchase a toy / gift and drop them off at either ASDA or an online list of drop off points. The toys will then be taken to a central sorting and distribution warehouse provided for free by The Store Room, Preston and sorted into ages / gender Applications are received from registered professional bodies inc. social services, doctors, school etc. There is a strict criteria which is children aged between 0 – 18 and living in real poverty within Rock FM and Magic 999s transmission area. The toys are then distributed to the most deprived children. We are already receiving applications and we believe that we will receive double the applications from last year. We would also like to be able to give each child £30 worth of goodies so this is a mammoth target and task. We’re encouraging everyone taking part in collecting to have some kind of launch event and invite the local press to make it as exciting for your customers/work place/school as possible! We need as many gifts as possible to cover the mass amount of children who wont receive anything at all otherwise at Christmas. You could register as a collection/drop off point for gifts and encourage your customers/pupils/employees to support the Christmas Appeal! your details to to register your business. Please logos, address, telephone number and contact point for us to add to the Like Rock FMs Facebook page for up to the minute info on the toy appeal. Check out for additional information. us photos throughout the campaign for us to upload to the website and Facebook to encourage people to your business to donate. Put up the posters around your workplace and ensure all staff are fully briefed Have a designated area for your own toy collections or for the toys to be dropped off by your customers – which is fully labelled. All staff should know where this is and what it’s for. Please think about how you are going to launch your appeal, maybe build it in with your own events such as carol singers, fancy dress, Santa, reindeers outside, tasting sessions, Christmas parties etc. Please try to keep the profile of the campaign high via in store announcements as this will help drive your staff morale and donations. Maybe try your own PR stunt and contact the local press. Make sure you take plenty of pictures that we can put on our websites.
