(S T C LEMENT OF A LEXANDRIA ) Prayer is, then, to speak more boldly, converse with God. Though whispering, and not opening the lips, we speak in silence, yet we cry inwardly. For God hears continually all the inward converse.

OBEY  32 And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” Acts 5:32

 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him !” Lk 11:13

 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Rom 8:14

P RAY, O BEY AND SAY Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. B ASIL THE G REAT O N THE H OLY S PIRIT (C AP. 9, 22-23: PG 32, ) O N THE H OLY S PIRIT  The Spirit raises our hearts to heaven, guides the steps of the weak, and brings to perfection those who are making progress. He enlightens those who have been cleansed from every stain of sin and makes them spiritual by communion with himself.
