Jaycee through the years 1923: “Get Out the Vote” Campaign launched to increase voter turnout. 1927: The Jaycees worked with member Charles Lindbergh to develop the U.S. Air Mail Service 1936: With Jaycees guidance, National Wildlife Federation established 1959: With Jaycee support and effort, statehood was granted for Alaska and Hawaii 1972: Operation Red Ball Campaign distributed over five million stickers to reduce fire fatalities 1993: Jaycees Against Youth Smoking (JAYS) Campaign launched to reduce underage smoking Raised Millions of Dollars for MDA, Relay for Life and to purchase land to establish community parks. Visit and Jaycees have played a role throughout the history of the United States.

Project Management Guide (PMG) A Business Plan that covers every aspect of running a project to help plan a successful project. Includes: Goal setting Manpower needs/resources Contingency planning Budgeting Schedule development Project evaluation and recommendations Formerly known as Chairman’s Planning Guide (CPG)

Before you start the project, utilize the PMG to help plan the project by answering the first 7 questions. 1.Primary Purpose: Develop a concise statement of the need the project will address. States the one thing you want to accomplish 2.Project Overview: Give a brief description of the proposed project. Describe project benefits and list specific and measurable goals for the project. Project Management Guide (PMG)

3.Steps to Implementation: List the specific steps to bring this project to a successful completion, showing the planned dates for each step, and the person or people responsible for each step 4.Critical Contacts: List all of the contact information for the critical people who will make this project happen 5.Materials, Supplies, Resources: What do you need and where are you getting it from 6.Budget: List the sources of income and expenses. They must balance! 7.Problems and Solutions: Think about what could go wrong before it happens and what you would do if it happens Project Management Guide (PMG)

After you finish the project, answer the final 3 questions so that the next Chairperson can learn from you and keep building it better: 8.Solutions or Recommendations for the Future: If you had to do it all over again, how would you do it better 9.Measureable Results for each Goal: Measure completion of your original goals from Project Summary: What is your “WOW” statement about the project Project Benefit: How did this project benefit or impact individuals, the chapter, and the community Project Management Guide (PMG)

10. Appendices: Attach everything the next person would need including financial statements, contract agreements, pictures, press releases Completed PMGs can be submitted for region and state recognition for project success within 60 days from completion of the project.
