Ely Honorary Society for the Advancement of Land Economics Provides a forum for the study and advancement of land economics where the "winnowing and sifting" of ideas takes place in an atmosphere of mutual respect Apolitical not-for-profit professional organization

LAI Membership Individuals are invited who have made notable contributions to the study and ethical practice of land use Now more than 2,000 members worldwide 1991 the Board of Governors approved the addition of the Student Organization "LAISA"

“Fostering a closer association with academia and professionals involved with land economics and related fields“ While original goal is still valid today, it has been expanded: Now a catalyst for the advancement of land economics by facilitating the interaction of members who have distinguished themselves in their professions, their communities and through academic achievements. Provides an opportunity for distinguished practitioners and scholars to come together in fellowship to discuss, debate and perhaps solve dilemmas involving use of our land resources. Organizational Goals

Criteria for Membership Achieved professional distinction, with a minimum of ten years of work experience Made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of land economics Distinguished themselves in the community through public service

Land Economics Foundation of LAI Purpose Proposed projects by members who know the leaders of states and towns and the problems they face Many members have strong affiliations with colleges, universities and secondary schools as well as hospitals and inner city organizations where the dollars Expertise of our Land Economics Foundation could play a meaningful role Funding for the ASU LAISA The founding of the ASU LAISA received $5000 in initial funding from this group which must be matched. I also must report on your progress at each meeting.
