Stories to tell… The Greek children’s point of view

“The Sly Fox” A man is sewing a racket. The man carries a barrel with grape juice. A fox tries to steel the grapes but the man catches her. The fox then goes to the king and apologizes. The fox finds a coin and gives it to the king. Then the fox finds the king’s daughter. The princess marries that man who was sewing the rackets and, with their carriage, they go to the castle. “The 3 little pigs and the bad wolf” Once upon a time there were three little pigs and the bad wolf wanted to eat them. Each little pig built his house to hide from the wolf. The first house was with straw. The other with wood. The other with bricks. The bad wolf came and wanted to eat them. He blows the first and throws it. He blows the second and throws it. Sometimes, he forgets to close the taps and it rains a lot and when he wakes up he closes them and the rain stops. When he sleeps and the taps are closed the sun comes out. “The she-hare who wanted to get married ” There was a she-hare who with open arms was wondering “who will I marry”. She meets a cat, but he leaves. Then she meets a dog but she doesn’t marry him. She stays alone. Then comes the bull and she doesn’t want to marry him. He also leaves. Then comes the mouse and finally they marry. They go on a date, they kiss, they cook and someone throws the mouse in the caldron. The wife comes and she finds him in the caldron. The cat is smiling because he threw him in. “The sick snail” One day the snail wakes up and his tummy hurts. He goes to the doctor and the doctor says “this is the plant for you to get well”. The snail finds the plant but he can’t cut it. He asks the help of a ladybug, then he asks the help of a cow, then he asks the help of a dog and then the help of a wolf. Altogether they cut the plant but the snail now is well and he thanks everyone. Traditional story from Catalonia, Spain The interpretation by the children of Greece
