The Trip to Saturn By: Melanie Amsing

Introduction I remember a time when my friend had a story to tell. I will tell you the story. The story takes place in Moscow, Russia.

Description This story is about Melody. Melody was a girl that lived in a red-bricked house with a brown roof, a wooden door, a large kitchen, three enormous master bedrooms, and six huge bathrooms. Her house had four floors, and all had wooden floors. They creaked when you went up and down the white spiral staircase.

Melody, one sunny late afternoon, was outside tanning. All of a sudden, she heard a squeak. It sounded like a mouse. She ignored it at first, but then she heard that she was summoned. She nervously stood up and looked about. She looked down to the damp, dark green grass. She saw a grey mouse with pink in its ears.

“Hello. My name is Anna,” she proclaimed. “I wonder what you’re thinking now, about me.” “Are you actually talking to me?” Melody expressed. “Of course I am, if I wasn’t, then you wouldn’t be talking to me!” she responded. “Anyway, I need your help.”

“Wait! I didn’t tell you my name, it’s Melody. Pleased to meet you.” Melody stated. “Now, what’s the problem?” Anna explained her problem and every time she paused, Melody said, “hmmm”. It seemed that Anna and her sister, Tamie, needed to go to Saturn to see their future.

“Okay, so… Tomas… you know him?” Anna asked. While she said this her sister came up behind her and startled her. “Don’t ever run away like that! I couldn’t keep up with you!” Tamie hissed. Just when Melody was about to respond Anna’s question,

“Meow! Jjjjjj!” Melody jumped up, startled. “Cosmic Creepers! Bad cat, bad cat! Down, boy, down!” Cosmic Creepers sat down, just like a puppy. He was about to eat Anna and Tamie.

Immediately afterwards, Tomas came riding down the street, with the creaking of the wheels against the steaming cement. “Hi, Melody! How are you today?” Tomas asked. “I’m okay. Hey, Tomas. Come here. I have something to tell you. Quick!” Melody proclaimed.

“Tell him about us, Saturn, and our need to see the future,” Anna whispered quietly. Tomas came and asked what the problem was. “You know all about space and rockets, right?” Melody asked. “Yes I do! What for?” Tomas replied. Then, Melody, Anna and Tamie explained to Tomas their need. To their surprise, he said he already had the spaceship.

Two days passed, all of them took off to Saturn, without Cosmic Creepers of course. “This is gonna be fun!” Melody blurted out. The engines were so loud that she had to shout at the top of her voice. The mice covered their long, wide ears. Suddenly, a question came to Melody’s mind.

“Anna, Tamie… how will you see your future?” “We cannot reveal the secret. The secret is a tradition in our specific family,” Anna replied. Suddenly, there was a big bump, which meant that they landed on Saturn. Next, they put their suits on and walked down the floating stairs. When they stepped off the stairs onto the surface, Melody looked at the spaceship. It was small and dark green.

“This feels weird,” exclaimed Anna. “I think I’m gonna fall over!” Anna fell over unbalanced. “Oh! I caught you.” Melody said as she put her palm out to catch Anna. “Thanks.” said Anna. Afterwards, Anna and Tamie led the way to the secret place. Tamie told Tomas and Melody to stay behind because it could be dangerous. Tomas and Melody stayed behind. Suddenly, a crystal ball materialized out of thin air. Tamie mumbled a few words and Anna saw their future.

“Finally! Melody, Tomas… Thank you.” thanked Tamie. Then, Anna, Tamie, Melody, Tomas and the spaceship disappeared and reappeared in Melody’s backyard. Cosmic Creepers was waiting for them, appalled.

The End!
