Everyday Mathematics-6 th grade Data display and interpretation Operations with whole #s and decimals Variables, Formulas, and Graphs Rational #s Geometry Algebra Probability and Discrete Math Rates and Ratios

Daily Math Expectations Enter class with all math supplies (books, homework, pencil, checking pen, etc.) Begin class/day with math message/mad minute Compare homework with partner(s) Investigation with groups/ hands-on opportunities Discussion/conversation mandatory Student Journal include daily lessons and Math Boxes to assess daily Study Links (SL) will be used for homework and parent information Student Reference Book (SRB) is a reference book to be used as needed

5 th Grade Grading System ES Exceeds Standards Consistently performs above grade level standards. Demonstrating mastery of the academic content at grade level and beyond. MS Meets Standards Consistently and accurately demonstrates skills. Independently applies the knowledge, skills, and standards appropriate to their grade level. Shows evidence of mastery on multiple and varied assessments over time. AS Approaching Standards. Demonstrated skills inconsistently. Show progress, but is not at grade level standard yet. CA Concerns in the area. Needs considerable assistance and is performing significantly below standards.
