Objectives / Purposes To foster the development and applications of nuclear technologies for peaceful uses; to act as a forum for the exchange / sharing of information; to encourage education on the nuclear sciences; to enhance the professional and technical capabilities of its members; to serve Canadian Nuclear Science, industry, and the public by: –organizing high quality conferences, general and specific; –organizing technical courses on subjects of industry interest; –organizing public seminars at its 12 branches on topics of interest; –sponsoring and or supporting science fairs, scholarships, science camps, and equipment for classrooms through the CNS Education Find;

Objectives / Purposes Continued –Sponsoring / supporting such initiatives as a Teacher’s Course on Nuclear Energy, Journalism Workshop of Scientific Reporting, AECL’s Science for Educators Seminar, and the Deep River Science Academy; –publishing the CNS Bulletin, a combined technical journal and news magazine; –recognizing individuals for their significant achievements; –co-operating with many other nuclear and scientific societies; –providing a communication link with government, media, and the public on nuclear issues; and by –maintaining an Internet Website (news, information, events, job opportunities, members resumes, links to other nuclear sites).
