E-information system for healthcare sectors- using dental lab management system as an example Professor: Dr. Amy Trappey Lifen Yeh d Ing-lian Lee d913853
Introduction In this project, we propose a business plan for developing a e-information system of health care sectors. Based on the web services technology, our system is enabled the related users to access the necessary information and process tasks under safety, efficiency anywhere and any times.
Background I- The important of MIS system for hospital A MIS system is necessary for the health sectors because it can reduce significant medical errors and enhance efficiency The number of preventable deaths from at 44,000 to 98,000 a year, and estimated the cost of preventable errors at billions in USA. (IOM reported) Users' motivation to invest in IT (hardware, software, services) is focused on products and services that allow them to get more out of existing infrastructure, people, and processes. More specifically, the healthcare sector (hospitals, offices and clinics, and other healthcare delivery services ) is particularly sensitive to and focused on enhancing the productivity of mission-critical personnel, reducing inefficiencies and redundancies in clinical and administrative operations, eradicating medical errors, and securing patient safety.

Worldwide B2B e-commerce will total $823.4 billion by the end of 2002, eMarketer found, and the strong growth will continue through 2004.Internet-based B2B trade will reach nearly $2.4 trillion by The B2B e-commerce projection from IDC is more ambitious than eMarketer's. IDC expects the total worldwide value of goods and services purchased by businesses through e-commerce solutions will increase from $282 billion in 2000 to $4.3 trillion by (Data From eMarker and IDC)

Using in different devices
The core technology Domain knowledge +Human computer interactions +web technology Combined the web technology and business knowledge with HCI disciple that enabled use could design a system from user’s point of view Design the system from user requirements, users are ( doctors, nurses, lab technical, patients, and managers) making our system 100% fits the expectation of users and operation of those users. For the vertical market, the users in this domain have their special requirements and way of operations.
The prototype system: Dental Lab Management System

The Development Process Requirement Analysis Brew minimal requirements But… time is limited Functional Analysis Build PrototypeTest & Evaluate
Minimal requirements Can manage delivery notes, do some basic calculations on time or clinics bases Client/Server Can be accessed from networked devices via browser Allow multiple users to access the system; each user may have different access privileges
How do we fulfill those needs? Development Platform Software: PHP, MySQL Deployment Platform Software Server: Apache with PHP, MySQL Client: WWW Browser Hardware: Any
