Meet and Greet Please choose one statement from the list that you strongly agree or strongly disagree with Think about your strongest writing influence Tell your partner how your writing influence impacts your belief or non- belief in the statement

Entrance Slip Take a 3x5 card and write down 3 reasons why it is beneficial to students and/or teachers to use Entrance and/or Exit slips in the classroom These will be collected

“What is Your Most Compelling Reason for Teaching Grammar?” Write a quick summary of the article in the space provided.

Summaries When we ask students to summarize what do they usually do? they write down everything they write down next to nothing they write way too much they don't write enough they copy word for word

Summaries What do we want them to do? pull out main ideas focus on key details use key words and phrases break down the larger ideas write only enough to convey the gist
