Module 1- Expressiones Comunes Study Guide Bilingual Beginnings

Study Guide Reflection *Look through each activity on the study guide, beginning with the study guide itself. Complete the reflection questions after each job. You will hand in the completed study guide reflections at the end of the module. How do you feel about this course? What Spanish vocabulary(words) do you know? What do you want to learn? What do you think your strengths are? What do you think might be hard for you?

The Vocabulary List- *Create a vocabulary presentation of the themed list. Be creative. Be sure to put the word and its translation right next to each other. The Spanish must be written out with correct spelling and the English translation can be written or a picture may be used (see the example on the vocabulary list page and during the live lesson). What did you like about making the list? What was hard for you while you were creating the presentation?

Participation Be sure to enter the live lesson on time and have the outline of the lesson in front of you. This will help you stay focused and follow along. As you follow the lesson, the teacher’s questions will be on the outline, you can be thinking as you watch of which question or comment you want to share on the lesson. Type it into the chatbox when the teacher asks. Reply or add more as you like. Pay close attention to the chat box and the teacher’s lesson. Use the outline to help you. Was it easy for you to participate? Why? What was difficult about participating in the live lesson?

Creating the Voice Thread *In Module One you will create a picture of yourself in your favorite weather and orally describe the weather of the day, how you are feeling and one word to describe your personality-( a template will be provided if necessary.) Then upload this onto voicethread.com and orally describe the weather, how you feel and your personality (see example on Voice Thread page and during the live lesson) What areas of the project did you like? What was easy for you? Hard?

Peer Review Go to and sign into our group. Listen to the all the voicethreads the class has made. Find one you want to comment on. An example is: [I like the way Maria and Juan are shown in the picture, they reflect the dialogue...Maria is happy and Juan is obviously not feeling well.] See some examples of the way other children have responded to voice threads- see What did you like about the peer review...Why? What was hard for you to do? Why?

Q and A Session Please go to the class blog and answer the question in Spanish that is presented last. Then you are to write another question for someone to answer. For example. Como esta? Estoy feliz Como esta? Use a variety of responses This participation will be 5 points. (Rubric is on the learning environment space-) Were you able to reply to the Question? Why and how? Did you like making a new question?

Interactive Games/Song Please go to.. games/spanish/adjectives/ and games/spanish/weather/ and.. and play these games (5 minutes a day ) – record your times on the study guidehttp:// games/spanish/adjectives/ games/spanish/weather/ Which game/activity/song did you like the best? Why? Any games you didn’t like—explain?

Coach’s Forum Coaches please go to the Coach’s discussion forum. Introduce yourself and tell what you think your strengths are for this course and what you feel will need support. This information will help me provide you with appropriate information for your student Did you help your coach write in the coach’s forum? Do you have any suggestions for your coach?
